The quiet village of Ugborough lies in the valley just 1/2 a mile walking distance from the campsite. Off the village square there are 2 pubs, a post office and St Peters church worthwhile visiting.
In July there is a Summer Fete with its usual stalls and the "Tossing of the Sheaf" competition.

There are many Public Footpaths, one of them is crossing the campsite and cycle trails. Dartmoor is in easy walking/cycling distance.
